Christopher Mahy read music at Oxford and holds diplomas in horn, piano, organ and choral conducting and has taught in a wide range of settings from schools to university. While Director of Music at Desborough School, Maidenhead, the 150-strong boys’ choir sang annually at the Royal Festival Hall and also recorded for ITV, BBC and Deutsche Grammophon. During 20 years as Head of the Instrumental Teaching Service for West Sussex, he conducted the County Youth Orchestra in many concerts and broadcast for Classic FM.
Christopher joined Portsmouth Music Service in 2012 and continues to play the horn in various orchestras and with the quintet Liquid Brass – available for corporate events, weddings and parties! He also enjoys exploring brass band repertoire playing tenor horn with Hyde Band, a championship section brass band in Fordingbridge
