Portsmouth Light Orchestra

About Portsmouth Light Orchestra

Portsmouth Light Orchestra is an amateur orchestra which started in 1936. It performs concerts supporting charities as well as funding the orchestra's expenses.

There are about 32 members and we meet weekly on Tuesday evenings to rehearse and enjoy making music. As the title of the orchestra suggests, we play a variety of light and classical music.

Current vacancies

We have vacancies for string players at the moment – Grade V or thereabouts standard of playing is needed.
