Showcase

Schools across the city are invited to take part in this exciting, massed choir celebration of creativity and community. This special Key Stage 2 + event will feature songs inspired by Portsmouth’s rich heritage, bringing together young voices to mark our city’s centenary in a vibrant and memorable way.

The Portsmouth 100 Showcase will take place on Thursday 9 July 2026 at 6:30pm at Portsmouth Guildhall.

+ What will schools have to do?

Attend the twilight session on 23 April 2026 at 4:30pm on Teams.
Teach the songs prior to the first in-school joint rehearsal during the week commencing 15 June.
Attend in-school joint rehearsal the week commencing 29 June - children will be expected to know all words and actions from memory at this session.
Attend a rehearsal at Portsmouth Guildhall on the day of the performance. Times will be confirmed based on which choir your school is allocated to, but these will either be 9:30 - 11:30am or 1:00 - 2:30pm.
Ensure that only children with photo and video consent are filmed as the final performance will be shared on social media.

+ Tickets

As this event is part of Portsmouth 100 celebrations, all tickets are funded tickets for families. Please note that standard booking fees may still apply.
Tickets for the showcase are free and families will have first access to booking via the Guildhall website using the special schools booking link before later being made avaialble to the general public. This will be sent to schools in due course.
Tickets are initially limited to a maximum of 4 tickets per child, with additional tickets available to book at a later date.

Songs

Schools will be split into two choirs, Choir A and Choir B. Each choir will learn seven songs - 6 community songs and 1 small group song (1 or 2 schools together)
