Ticking Clock
Ticking Clock is one of Portsmouth Music Hub’s creative projects designed to raise awareness about environmental issues through music and the arts. This brand new initiative uses original songs, performances, and educational resources to engage children and young people in conversations about climate change, sustainability, and the importance of protecting the planet.
The initiative will feature a series of workshops in music, visual arts, and performance, where participants will collaborate with professional artists to create original content inspired by the urgency of climate action.
The Creative Workshops will take place in-school during the following weeks:
Art Workshops - W/C 12 January & 19 January 2026
Dance Workshops - W/C 2 February 2026
Rap Workshops - W/C 9 February 2026
Vocal Workshops - W/C 2 March 2026
These workshops will culminate in the production of a documentary that captures the creative journey, voices, and visions of the young participants. The celebration event will take place on 9 June 2026 at the Kings Theatre at 6:30pm.
Workshops are initially limited to one per school. Workshops are limited to 1 class per workshop and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The documentary will premiere on 9 June, serving as both a celebration of youth creativity and a powerful call to action for a more sustainable future.
The Ticking Clock event will open with panel discussions led by local students, who will share their perspectives on climate change, sustainability, and the role of the arts in driving social change.
Following the discussions, the evening will feature the premiere of the Ticking Clock documentary; a powerful film capturing the voices, artwork, and performances of young people who participated in a series of creative workshops exploring environmental themes.
This event promises to be a celebration of youth empowerment, artistic expression, and collective action for a greener future.
