About Charanga Music

Charanga is a UK company founded by Royal College of Music graduate Mark Burke and computer scientist Paul Fletcher.

Charanga has a talented team of technologists, musicians, writers, and music educators that work in close partnership with music publishers and large teaching organisations to build digital programmes that open up music-making to children on a large scale.

Charanga believes every child and young person should have access to high quality music learning that will inspire and enable them to become confident musicians.

In 2015, Charanga won the Music Teacher Award for Excellence for best digital/technological resource.

Charanga Musical School: Musical School is a Charanga Primary school programme that includes a modern scheme for the new music curriculum, a singing strategy, and support for large group instrumental teaching all supported by training and CPD.

Charanga Music Professional: Music Professional is a digital programme to support the work of the Hub’s professional instrumental teachers. It provides state-of-the-art music teaching resources embedded in the very latest educational technology as well as a complete online music world for children to use between lessons.

Charanga VIP Studio Sessions: Secondary schools and young people use Charanga's VIP Studio Sessions programme which provides everything they need to create, produce and release their own music, including an online recording studio.

Charanga Music World: A safe online space where children and young people can go to learn, explore and develop playing and musicianship skills as they begin learning musical instruments. It's a magical world of avatars and music activities where children earn coins and badges as a reward for completing musical tasks.
